UFC On Fuel 6 Has A Main Event For Their First Trip to China

Posted by Mika Frankl

UFC on Fuel TV 6 will take place on November 10, 2012 in Macau, China and is the UFC’s first venture into China. The main event is a bout that was supposed to take place at UFC 148, that was until Vitor Belfort broke his hand forcing Franklin to move over to UFC 147 and face Wanderlei Silva in the main event. This allowed the Cung Le vs Patrick Cote to occur at UFC 148. With Le and Franklin both being successful this led to Cung Le (8-2) vs Rich “Ace” Franklin (29-6) as the first main event in China.

Franklin is a former UFC Middleweight Champion who has returned to the division after a trip to Light Heavyweight with a final title run on his mind. Franklin has 15 career TKO/KO and 10 career submission victories. Franklin has wins over some of MMA’s best, names like Chuck Lidell, Wanderlie Silva (Twice), Travis Lutter, Matt Hamill and Yushin Okami. IIn his last bout with Silva, Franklin showed very good striking with use of faints and movement.

Cung Le brings with him a exciting striking style that utilizes spinning moves and kicks that no one else in MMA uses. That striking style has led Le to win 7 of 8 fights by TKO/KO. Le is a former Strkiforce Middleweight Champion and his wars with Scott Smith were just that amazing, exciting wars!! Le does not know how to be in a dull fight which is part of why he is a fan favorite. Le is coming off another exciting war with Patrick Cote that after had Le’s foot hurting so much from landing kicks it almost threatened this bout from happening. Le is healthy now and ready for the huge spotlight.
