This Saturday, April 27th UFC 159 Jones vs. Sonnen will be broadcasting live on Pay-Per-View from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ! This main event has been a long time in the making. It all started back at UFC 150…
Jon Jones was all set to fight Dan Henderson, but Henderson suffered a knee injury in preparation and Jones needed a new opponent. Well, I’m sure you know the rest. Nobody wanted the fight Jones with just one week notice. Ah, but wait. Chael Sonnen stepped up and said he would move up a weight class to face the Champ. Then the unthinkable, Jones said, “No.” As a result, for the first time in history, the UFC cancelled the event!
This was a pretty big deal and many people were very disappointed. So much so, that Jon Jones’ fan base began to shift. Sonnen, of course, was vocal and cut Jones no slack, calling him out repeatedly. Since then we have seen Jones and Sonnen face other opponents and Sonnen given what he asked for. Then, we watched as they coached opposite one another on The Ultimate Fighter leading and building up to their fight this weekend.
One important part of this story that you most likely are unaware of is the fact that, for the first time ever, I was issued press credentials for a UFC event, UFC 150 and Jon Jones took it all away from me! I will try to remain impartial and professional as I proceed. All joking aside, I am super excited about this main event and this card. After several great cards in a row, this one has the potential to be flat out amazing.

This past weekend, I met up with exciting up & coming UFC fighter Daron Cruickshank. There is a really cool event coming up here in Vegas at the end of May. It is going to be an MMA seminar, but really, it will be much more than that. The event will be raising funds for an amazing charity that is doing incredible things for people suffering from a health issue that not too many people know about.
This seminar/meet & greet is shaping up to be pretty awesome with more and more well known fighters and coaches jumping on board every week! The other really cool thing about this event is that it falls on a BIG weekend for MMA here in Vegas. It will be held on the morning of of UFC 160 Velasquez vs. Silva at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and the following evening there will be a Tuff-N-Uff event at the SouthPoint Arena! It is the perfect weekend for a road trip to Vegas!

This Saturday, April 20th will be UFC on Fox live from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. It will broadcast FREE on Facebook, FX and then FOX! This is going to be an incredible event. The card is packed with exciting stand up fighters, as well as, amazing ground practitioners! There are going to be some lightning fast exchanges and some crazy, grinding battles. A few guys on this card will be fighting for their job and a couple will be fighting for their shot at the gold!

The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale will take place this Saturday, April 13th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV and will broadcast FREE on Facebook, FUEL TV and then FX! This is going to be an amazing event. The card has a little bit of something for everyone. There are some phenomenal strikers, incredible grapplers, heavyweights, featherweights, and women!

Friday, May 10th the United Fighting Organization will attempt to elbow their way in and establish themselves as an amateur MMA promotion here in Las Vegas. Promoter Dwayne Spivey of Oregon seems to be getting all his ducks in a row and has began to partner with all the right players. One of those partners is MMA legend Kevin “The Monster” Randleman. The fight card for the event is coming together and there is a growing buzz about this new kid on the block. The UFO will be holding its events at the Silver Nugget Casino and currently has a total of 3 events on the calendar including the May 1oth event.
This event will showcase some of the best up and coming talent from the top MMA gyms in the area and abroad. It’s sure to be a jam packed night of MMA action! Plan on being at this event!

On Saturday, May 25th, King of the Cage will be returning to the Eastside Cannery here in fabulous Las Vegas, NV for their Future Legends 14 amateur MMA show.
This event will showcase some of the best up and coming talent from the top MMA gyms in the area and abroad. It will be a jam packed night of MMA action including 2 title fights! The KOTC event here in march was incredible! One of the best cards I have seen live in a long while! This Saturday, April 6th is UFC on FUEL 9 live from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. It is another great card and should prove to be an action packed night of fights! I hope you are planning to watch and have been taking advantage of these free events. They have been solid.

This Saturday, March 16th will be the long awaited meeting of Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz. UFC 158 will be broadcasting live on pay-per-view from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. There are several great match ups on this card.
The evening should be action packed from beginning to end considering it features both knockout artists and submission specialists. Not to mention, the recent cutting spree the UFC has been on and the bad blood between the headliners. These things don’t make predicting fights any easier that is for sure!

Tuff-N-Uff will be heading back up to the CasaBlanca Resort in Mesquite, NV for their Mayhem in Mesquite II event on Saturday, March 23rd. There is no doubt that this will be a great night of MMA action.
