On Tuesday April 16, Fresquez Productions, held a luncheon at the Albuquerque International Airport. At the luncheon Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (32-2-3) announced that her May 11th boxing match against Mary McGee (20-1) would be her final boxing match, as Holm will retire from boxing to concentrate on her MMA career.

Holm is a 14 time world champion who trains out of the Jackson’s/Winkeljohn’s gym. Holm is ranked number 1 in the world at Light Welterweight and is arguably the top women’s boxer in the world, if not of all time. “The Preacher’s Daughter” made her pro boxing debut in January of 2002 defeating Martha Deitchman by TKO. Holm would go 7-0-2 in her first 9 matches before suffering her first pro loss to Rita Turrisi by TKO. Holm would then go undefeated in 24 consecutive bouts. Since suffering a KO loss to Anne Sophie Mathis, Holm has won 2 boxing matches in a row; including a unanimous decision win in the immediate rematch with Mathis. The last time Holm was in the boxing ring she dominated at 10 round affair with Diana Prazak, winning by unanimous decision.

Holm made her MMA debut in 2011, competing twice and defeating both Christina Domke and Jan Finney by KO/TKO. Holm didn’t compete in MMA in 2012. Returning to the cage in 2013 “The Preacher’s Daughter” fought at the Rio Rancho Bellator 91 event stopping Katie Merrill in the 2nd round by TKO.

Holly Holm vs. Mary McGee is the headlining bout of “Mayhem” which takes place on May 11, 2013, at the Legends Theater inside the Route 66 Casino. It has also been announced that in June Holly Holm will be inducted into the New Mexico Hall of Fame.
