After a boxing title match with Cecilia Braekhus fell through last month, Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm wasted no time finding a new fight. Holm (2-0-0 in MMA, 2 by KO/TKO) will have her third MMA bout against Katie Merrill (1-0-0, 1 by submission) tomorrow night, Thursday, February 8th at Bellator’s MMA event, held at the Santa Ana Star Casino in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
The women’s bantamweight match starts at 8PM ET/5 PM PT, and will be the feature event of the webcast, after which the coverage will switch to Spike TV.
A native of Albuquerque, Holm is a 14 time, three division, boxing champion and is widely considered to be the best female boxer in the world. Holm is promoted by Fresquez Productions, and fights for Team Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA, where she is managed and trained by John Winkeljohn. Look for UFC star Jon Jones working her corner.
