Recently while at Jackson’s/Winkeljohn’s MMA I had the chance to talk with Jodie Esquible about her upcoming Invicta FC 5 match-up against Alex Chambers…
MF:Coming off an Invicta FC 4 split decision win over Liz McCarthy; how did you feel about your performance?
JE: You know what going into that fight it was a super tough opponent. A lot of people were deceived by her record. She went in there with a huge amateur background in MMA and was undefeated at that. An undefeated (fighter) in Invicta and we fought to a close decision. And, I felt I did enough to edge the decision and it was a good fight, it was great. I learned a lot. I learned a lot about myself and I learned about taking the next step into a big organization like that.
MF: What would something be, looking back on the performance, that you want to tweak or work on, what would those be?
JE: You know what every performance you come out of there’s a lot of room for improvement. So, I took the video of myself and broke it down. That’s what everybody else is going to do and I game-plan against myself. And, so with that I worked on a lot of different things to try and clan up some stuff; trying to patch up those holes that everybody can see.
There’s much more to this interview un-cage it by playing the video below…
