The blood the sweat and tears that go into training in a gym makes the gym almost like a member of your team- a home away from home. Now imagine building the facility with your own hands on the same land you live on. This is what Donald Cerrone and Leonard Garcia have built at their home and named it the Tapout Ranch,.
The entire Facility includes the main house with a bunk house for visiting fighters, a huge gym fully equipped with cage, mats, punching bags, and exercise equipment.
When asked what having the gym and how the Tapout Ranch is helping young fighters Leonard Garcia says she Ranch is not limited to young fighters, vets and all wanting to learn, help learn, and work hard are welcome. Leonard Garcia said “If you’re not getting beat up in the gym, than you’re not getting better.” The gym is also so they can see and learn all the new styles coming out break them down, take the technique and help improve it. The idea came to Donald and Leonard while living at the Jackson’s/Winkeljohn’s gym for a year and seeing so many guys with different styles coming through the doors.
The Ranch is here for Leonard and Donald to always be able to stay on top of their game and to have a place where they can bring out young fighters that think they have what it takes to make it to the big show. They do give the upstart fighters a break that may be very well need and even life changing. MMA is evolving every day and this is a different way of thinking to bring guys out live together, work together, grow together, and keeps this cycle going as all the fighters are growing.
Also with the process of learning all the new techniques and re-teaching them “Bad Boy” also said when his fighting days are done he could see himself as a coach of teacher for MMA.
Knuxx would like to thank Leonard for the privilege and honor of being invited out to the ranch, we hope it’s just first of many to come!!
