Less than a year ago I met Rolando and Manny Cespedes at the Tapout Research and Training Facility – now House of Ryu – in Las Vegas, NV. It seems like everyday we meet fighters that just show up to train and go in there to fight. There was something a little different about these two guys. They have a legitimate passion for mixed martial arts and achieving their dreams. Spend a few minutes with them and they will tell you about their love for fighting and how much it means to them. Very quickly it will become apparent that family is very important. While they are sacrificing a lot to accomplish their MMA goals, they make sure that their family stays together and is taken care of.
From the time I initially met them I knew that there was a story to be shared. It was just a matter of finding the right time and place. Eventually everything works itself out. Rolando and Manny will be fighting on the main card of Jackson’s MMA Series X in Albuquerque, NM. Being a New Mexico native I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to introduce these two Nevada fighters to New Mexico mixed martial arts fans.
In episode one of “The Fight Life- Brothers In Arms”, we will introduce you to the twin brothers and give you an inside look into who they are. Episode two will come shortly thereafter, taking you into their fight camp as they make final preparations for their journey to “The Land of Enchantment” to battle some of the best New Mexico has to offer. The final episode will cover the weigh ins, their fights and where they take their careers from there.
