Bellator 91 will be held in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at the Santa Ana Star Center on February 28, 2013. Lenny Lovato (8-1) returns to the cage for the first time in 2 ½ years to face WEC vet Blas Avena (7-6).
MF: 2 and ½ years away, how excited are you to get back in the cage?
LL: I’m super excited, pumped to get back into mixed martial arts again. I’ve always been ready to get back in here. I was supposed to face Junie Browning a few years back and I broke my hand. But training camp has gone good, my body’s healthy every things in order, so I’m totally excited and pumped to get back in the cage.
MF: Then making your return in a big show like Bellator, how does that feel and it being in your home state?
LL: Well I think this is the opportunity that we’ve kind of been waiting on; I didn’t want to come back in starting all over again. I want to pick up where I left off.
